- Daydream Energy selected for Anthropic's Deep Tech Founders Program, receiving up to USD$50,000 in Claude credits
- Credits will extend Claude from Daydream's engineering and support workflows into its core energy forecasting and battery dispatch
- Enrolments now open for Daydream's Sundown summer demand response pilot in Melbourne's west, 1 November 2026 to 31 March 2027
[Melbourne, Australia] - Daydream Energy, a platform for distributed energy management and demand response, has been selected for Anthropic's Deep Tech Founders Program. Daydream will receive USD$50,000 (AUD$72,000) in credits for Claude, Anthropic's AI assistant, to expand AI usage across its platform.
Daydream is an AI-first company using Claude throughout its operations – from research, spec-driven development and QA with Claude Code, through to automated backend and customer support workflows that resolve bugs and initial help tickets as soon as they occur. This funding will take AI further into Daydream's core energy analytics.
Daydream ingests meter, battery, weather and utility data to predict when the grid will face a demand or price peak, and forecasts each home's energy use to schedule when each battery should charge or discharge to support the grid when it's needed most, while maximising savings and earnings for the household. Today these decisions rely on rules tied to grid forecasts and machine learning models. Daydream will add a layer of large language model oversight on top, with Claude reviewing forecasts and dispatch plans, flagging unusual conditions, and fine-tuning how the existing algorithms operate.
“Daydream's forecasting models are good at spotting patterns in grid and home energy use in aggregate, but individual homes and people's daily routines can vary greatly,” said James Muraca, Founder of Daydream Energy. “With Anthropic's support, Daydream can automate home batteries more precisely, ensuring they support the grid when it's needed most and that households are paid fairly for it.”
Daydream Energy is focused on Melbourne's western suburbs, where fast-growing communities and new data centres share the same network. Daydream is now accepting enrolments for its Sundown summer demand response pilot, running from 1 November 2026 to 31 March 2027.
